More Than 100 Execs Attend 11th CEA CEO Summit

SANTA BARBARA, CALIF. — More than 100 top executives from the consumer electronics (CE) industry addressed crucial business issues at the 11th annual Consumer Electronics CEO Summit held June 20-22, here.

Aside from the Manufacturer Power Panel (see p. 1), presentations were made by CEA president/CEO Gary Shapiro on public policy and major efforts the CE industry is undertaking to preserve its future; "Green will Change CE," by Dave Sherman of Blu Skye Sustainability Consulting; "The Digital Future: The World Economic Forum's Perspective on the Convergence Among IT, Telecom, Media & Entertainment," by co- presenters Rick Webb of Barbarian Group and Alex Wong, Center for Global Industries, World Economic Forum; "How Design Fits into the Evolving Digital World," by Darrel Rhea of Cheskin; and "Competition, Perspective, Possibilities: Get a Jump on the New Trend Landscapes," by Robyn Waters of RW Trend.

There was also time for golf, sailing and other activities including evening receptions, one which was sponsored by TWICE, and the final evening featured a Roaring '20s theme.
