Service Net Joins Online Offerings

Tedra Meyer -- TWICE, 2/26/2001

JEFFERSONVILLE, IND. -Adding another Internet-based third-party service administrator to the mix, Service Net Inc. launched its website-eservicentral.com-last month.

The site, which is available to customers who purchase a service contract for products manufactured or carried by any of Service Net's clients, provides an online tool for troubleshooting or scheduling service for electronics, computers, appliances, HVAC, or lawn and garden equipment. Customers also can view their complete service contract online or print additional copies.

"Eservicentral.com will be a remarkable convenience for our customers," said Service Net president Kevin Callahan in a prepared statement. "Customers will be walked through possible causes and remedies for their product's problem, and if necessary, make an online request for service and be linked directly into Service Net's nationwide network of qualified servicers."

Callahan added that the site will be beneficial to Service Net's clients as well. "When customers have a positive support or service experience through our site, it will result in increased product and brand affinity-and ultimately, customer loyalty-for our clients."

In later phases of the site's rollout, the second of which is expected in the second quarter, a cross-selling feature will be added. For example, a customer visiting the site for troubleshooting information for a flat-screen TV will have the opportunity to purchase additional service contracts.
