Best Buy Offers Gaming Guidance

By Colleen Bohen -- TWICE, 6/4/2007

MINNEAPOLIS — Best Buy will provide users with access to reviews, content descriptions and user comments from Common Sense Media as a shopping tool on BestBuy.com . According to a release, Common Sense is a non-profit, non-partisan organization dedicated to providing parents with tools to help them to make better decisions about media and entertainment.

The initiative will initially roll out with content dedicated to Best Buy's video game selections, but the company said it plans to eventually extend the service to include movie reviews as well.

"We want parents to be confident they are buying games that are appropriate for their families and fun to play," said Jill Hamburger, Best Buy's entertainment VP.

Common Sense Media's information will be available to consumers on the Best Buy site through a link next to the game's ESRB rating for any game title that the group has reviewed.
