RhinoSkin Ships Aluminum Laptop Shell
By Staff -- TWICE, 5/21/2007
READFIELD, MAINE — RhinoSkin is shipping its universal aluminum Hardcase, a form-fitting metal notebook computer case aimed at "road warrior" business travel.
The Hardcase holds up to a 17-inch notebook PC or Mac and has a patent-pending locking mechanism that slides and locks to prevent any movement of the enclosed PC while the bag is in motion.
It has a shoulder strap as well as a retractable handle and the exterior casing is ventilated to allow air flow around the PC to prevent overheating.
The hinged design allows for two usage modes. The cover can be opened to lock the screen in place, or the top of the case can fold over to transform the Hardcase into a laptop stand that angles the keyboard for comfortable typing.
The case includes an accessory pack to hold a power supply.
Rhinoskin has posted a demonstration video at at www.youtube.com/watch?v=OlfdIKY4Vy4.
The Hardcase retails for $149.
