Averatec Intros Its First Vista-Based Notebook

By Colleen Bohen -- TWICE, 5/21/2007

SANTA ANA, CALIF. — Averatec has added its first Microsoft Vista-based notebook to its 2300 series.

Model 2371 comes pre-installed with Windows Vista Home Premium and runs on an AMD Turion 64 X2 dual-core processor.

The 12 W-inch model is an inch thick and weighs 4 pounds. It features a chocolate-brown case and incorporates Averatec's AveraBrite technology, which the company says provides a brighter screen for "crystal-clear viewing."

Available with 1GB of DDR2 memory that can be expanded to 2GB, the 2371 features a 120GB SATA hard drive, a dual-layer DVD burner and built-in 802.11 b/g wireless networking capabilities. The product's integrated four-in-one media reader supports SD, MS, MMC and MS Pro media formats for transferring digital photos.

The notebooks have suggested retail prices ranging from $899 to $949 depending on the configuration. The product is backed by a one-year limited warranty with a six-month warranty on the battery and one-year's access to toll-free 24/7 technical support.

The product is available this month at www.shopaveratec.com through select online resellers.
