View Base Puts Portables On The Dash

By Staff -- TWICE, 5/21/2007

NORTHRIDGE, CALIF. — View Base is a new mounting solution for devices such as portable GPS units, MP3 players and cellphones that consumers may want to mount on the dashboard without adhesives and without drilling.

The View Base resembles a high-tech bean bag with an indentation in the middle. Using the physics of texture and weight distribution, the device automatically "sticks" to the dashboard and is guaranteed to hold up to 10 pounds in place.

To affix the portable device to the View Base, consumers use an optional bracket or the windshield mount that comes with a GPS or other device.

The View Base has a suggested retail of $19.95, or $29.95 with the mounting bracket. The bracket is adjustable to fit most products.

The device is being test marketed at several electronics stores and is sold through www.marketgypsy.com. MarketGypsy is a division of Lorachell International, which specializes in bringing overseas inventions to the United States.
