Griffin Rolls Out TuneFlex AUX

By Lisa Johnston -- TWICE, 3/26/2007

NASHVILLE, TENN. — Griffin Technology announced its TuneFlex AUX, a flexible charging cradle with line-out audio, is now shipping.

Designed to charge an iPod as it plays over the car's stereo, the TuneFlex AUX includes an auxiliary-in cable to accommodate auxiliary input-enabled cars. It plugs into the car's 12-volt accessory outlet to power and charge an iPod while holding the device in front of the dashboard or console. A light at the base of the TuneFlex's adjustable neck displays power status. Its charging circuitry is also equipped with a replaceable auto fuse to reportedly keep the iPod safe from power spikes.

For cars that don't have an aux-in port on the car stereo, TuneFlex has a pass-through dock connector so it can be used in conjunction with the company's iTrip FM transmitter.

Priced at $49.99, it is offered for the second-generation iPod nano (9556-NTFLXAUX), and iPod with video (9557-5GTFLXAUX). It is currently available.
