SoundTech Introduces LightSnake PC Cables

By Lisa Johnston -- TWICE, 3/26/2007

CHICAGO — SoundTech Professional Audio announced last week a full line of LightSnake-powered computer accessory cables. The cables are meant to allow users to connect printers, iPods, MP3 players, digital cameras and more with cables using LightSnake's "Live when Lit" technology.

The "Live when Lit" technology is designed to allow users to see when the cable is properly connected. The LightSnake computer cables glow when connected and flash when data is being transmitted, taking the guesswork out of setting up USB-connected computer accessories and peripherals, said the company in a release.

The line includes:

  • USB-A to USB-B high-speed cable
  • USB-A to USB-A high-speed cable
  • USB-A to USB five-pin mini-B high-speed cable
  • USB-A to USB-A high-speed extension cable — extends the connection of keyboards, digital cameras, speakers and joysticks
  • USB-A to iPod dock cable — compatible with all click wheel iPod models, iPod Photo and iPod mini

The SoundTech LightSnake line of computer cables is scheduled to be available in the first quarter with a suggested retail of $49.99.
