TelEvolution Bows Tellme Partnership

DANVILLE, CALIF. — TelEvolution announced last week that it is using Tellme Networks' products to provide PhoneGnome users with the ability to say what they want, while making free calls anywhere in the world.
TelEvolution positions the Phone-Gnome as a PSTN-to-Internet solution, the opposite of a Skype or Vonage call which starts on the Internet and terminates to a landline.
Instead of the buzz of the traditional dial tone, Tellme's technology provides PhoneGnome users with a menu to direct the experience using their voice. Callers are greeted by name and asked what they would like to do. PhoneGnome users can call any contact in their PhoneGnome address book by speaking the contact's name; the resulting call will be made using whatever telephone service the PhoneGnome owner has subscribed to, such as the local PSTN telephony company, or a Phone-Gnome-enabled VoIP service provider.
The caller also has the option to use the telephone keypad to dial any phone number.
PhoneGnome owners can also utilize MobileGnome to provide voice dialing from a mobile phone. PhoneGnome owners dial their home number manually or using a speed-dial, and Tellme's technology enables users to place a call by speaking a name, providing hands free voice dialing from any mobile phone. Mobile-Gnome enables PhoneGnome owners to use their PhoneGnome features and calling plans from any phone.
Tellme's voice-driven capabilities are offered as a technology trial from TelEvolution. The firm will discount the $99.99 PhoneGnome to $59.99 for a limited time.
