Built NY Ships Two New Bags

By John Laposky -- TWICE, 2/26/2007

NEW YORK — Built NY has begun shipping this month two additions to the company's colorful neoprene consumer electronics case line.

The new laptop portfolio case is constructed of an abrasion-resistant 5mm-thick neoprene typically used by coral reef divers. The bag's exterior pockets, designed to store legal-size files as well as power cords and cables, are secured with heavy-duty snaps. The main compartment's zipper is positioned on the outside to prevent scratching notebook PC finishes. It comes with a handle and a removable, adjustable padded shoulder strap. The bag is available in black, leaf green and brown.

Built NY's new charger bag is lined with six internal pockets that can hold a range of chargers and cords. The neoprene construction flexes to accommodate larger items and hug contents securely. It zips open and shut and when not in use, stores flat. The design is patent pending. It comes in black, leaf green and a stripe pattern called Stripe No. 7.

The items, first showed at International CES in January, began shipping earlier this month and have suggested retails of $69.99 and $29.99, respectively.

In addition to shipping the new cases, Built NY has added another pattern to its line of laptop sleeves that were introduced last summer. The neoprene sleeves come in three sizes to accommodate notebooks of 12 inches, 15 inches and 17 inches. The new pattern, Dot No. 7, will be available this spring, according to the company. The sleeves retail for $29.99 to $42.99.
