TEMPE, ARIZ. — Rockford's CEO of 15 years, Gary Suttle announced his retirement from the car audio company effective Feb. 19.
Rockford said it will not replace Suttle as many of his duties have already been assumed by Bill Jackson, who was named president of Rockford last year.
Suttle became Rockford's CEO in 1992 and helped take the company public in 1999. He oversaw the company's entry into Best Buy and Wal-Mart and Rockford's recent expansion into the OEM sector.
"With all that done, it's time to pass the baton. I and my wife are very much looking forward to retirement," said Suttle
He will continue as a director at Rockford for an unspecified period to smooth the transition, he said.
