IASCA and NOPI Set Joint Tour

By Amy Gilroy -- TWICE, 2/26/2007

SOUTH DAYTONA, FLA. — IASCA is extending its partnership with NOPI to create a nine-city joint NOPI-IASCA tour that will give car stereo vendors and retailers a presence at popular car tuner events.

IASCA has also been contracted by Pioneer to be the judge of the first "Pioneer Demo Vehicle Build Off" to take place in Tucson, Ariz., April 15-18.

IASCA expanded its relationship with NOPI, the motor sports event sponsor, after a successful World Finals was held at the NOPI National event in Atlanta last year, said IASCA director Moe Sabourin. Through the new collaboration, 12-volt retailers and suppliers will be offered "inexpensive" booth space that is blended in with the NOPI midway in the nine-city tour for maximum exposure, Sabourin said. IASCA president Paul Papadeas said the IASCA-NOPI events are comparable to a "Dealer Tent Sale." "I think there are too many of us that get lost in the 'what's new, what's the next big thing,' when all along, the tested, tried-and-true works fine. There is no need to reinvent the wheel here."

NOPI draws up to 100,000 attendees at a national event, which can help generate exposure to a new audience. "The goal is to give mobile electronics manufacturers and local dealers some exposure to the public to help proliferate the industry," Sabourin said.

The NOPI-IASCA tour will include stops in or near the cities of Dallas, Chicago, Philadelphia, Denver, Los Angeles, Detroit, Pittsburgh, and Baltimore/Washing D.C. For more information contact moe.sab@iasca.com.
