JVC Pro Adds HD-ILA RPTVs

By Greg Tarr -- TWICE, 2/12/2007

WAYNE, N.J. — JVC Professional Products introduced two new slim-design HD-ILA 1,080p rear-projection TVs in the 61W-inch and 70W-inch screen sizes for the commercial, professional and custom installation markets.

The 61W-inch HD-P61R2U ($3,199 suggested retail) and 70W-inch HD-P70R2U ($4,999 suggested retail) both use three-chip D-ILA technology to produce full 1,920 by 1,080p native resolution.

Inputs include HDMI and RS-232C serial control ports. The units also use the D65 color temperature standard and incorporate ATSC digital TV tuning and CableCARD slots.

Other features include Waves' MaxxBass technology to enhance audio performance, a dynamic iris to adjust to the best iris position automatically while allowing active control for every picture.

Both models offer a slim-design cabinet to simplify installations in tight spaces. Cabinet depths run around 20 inches, a JVC Pro spokesperson said.
