Motion Expands Icon Line

Las Vegas — Motion Systems showed a variety of new additions to its lineup of Icon-branded storage solutions at International CES. The company unveiled a collection of cases for wireless products including cellphone-specific and universal models.

The assortment includes finishes of metallics, faux exotic skins and more.

Also new to the Icon lineup is the black female fashion laptop Tote which features a red interior and expandable side gussets. Other design elements on the faux leather bag include silver studs and hardware, braided edging and shoulder straps, contrast top stitching. The bag has a padded laptop pocket in its main compartment as well as zipper-closure exterior pockets. It carries a suggested retail of $79.99.

CTA Digital iPod Line Grows

Las Vegas — CTA Digital showed additions to its line of iPod accessories at International CES.

The Extended iPod battery with leather case adds 16 to 42 hours of extra running time to an iPod. An opening at the top and bottom of the case accommodates connected accessories.

The iPod voice recorder with speaker attaches to the docking port of the iPod to instantly activate the recording feature. Built-in speakers allow users to listen to voice memos as well as music and video. The flexible microphone can be removed from the voice recorder and a line-in allows recording to the iPod from external audio devices.

The iPod docking station with remote control connects via A/V cable to a television or home stereo to play video, music or view photos from an iPod on a TV screen. It includes an S-video port.

Also on display was The Grand Scale iPod home stereo system featuring two satellite speakers and the Sound Awake iPod alarm clock radio with remote.

Gefen Shows Cable Solutions

Las Vegas — Gefen showcased a selection of its latest cable solutions at International CES.

HDMI fiber extension cables allow HDMI TVs and projectors to be connected to their source from a little more than three miles away. The product feature two dongles, a transmitter and receiver all connected by a single or multi-mode fiber cable.

The HDMI Super Extreme CAT-5 sends HDMI A/V content up to 300 feet over two CAT-5 cables with resolutions up to 1,080p. The cables' interior strands are constructed with fiber optics and copper wiring that are said to fully support HDMI sources and displays with HDCP compliance.

Gefen's HDMI Super booster cables are designed to extend any HDTV source to a TV up to 150 feet away without any signal degradation. The cable and booster in one can carry HDCP-compliant video and eight channels of digital audio through its HDMI connector.

Able Planet Headphones

Las Vegas — Able Planet's Clear Harmony active noise-canceling headphones feature a proprietary technology called Linx Audio that alters the audio signal to increase the intensity of higher frequency sounds. The headphones also reduce distortion at higher volumes by soft clipping the sound wave rather than squaring it off and provide 18 decibels of active noise cancellation to reduce unwanted background noise. The headphones won a CES Innovations Award. Suggested retail is $299.
