Pioneer Joins ICE

By Staff -- TWICE, 1/22/2007

SWEDESBORO, N.J. — In Car Expects, (ICE) the first car audio buying group announced that its first full-line car audio supplier will be Pioneer Electronics.

The start up buying group will work with the Pioneer Premier line aimed at mobile specialists.

ICE says it expects to bring other full line suppliers on board in the near future. Since its formation in May, ICE has announced partnerships with several specialty vendors including JL Audio, Boston Acoustics, Aamp of America and Metra.

ICE director of vendor relations noted, "To my knowledge, Pioneer has the largest market share in mobile electronics."

He said the group has attracted approximately 50 of the top car audio specialty retailers so far but noted that ICE has not pursued retail members at this point, as it is focusing on securing vendor members.

The group's aim is to work with the top mobile electronics retailers to empower and professionalize a select group of mobile specialists. There are an estimated 8,000 to 10,000 mobile electronics specialty stores in the United States.
