Sanyo Updates HD Hybrid

By Greg Scoblete -- TWICE, 1/8/2007

LAS VEGAS — Sanyo will offer a second generation model of its high definition, flash-based video recorder at CES.

The HD2 will continue to offer 720p video onto SD memory cards but will add compatibility with the higher capacity SDHC format. It will bump the resolution for still images to 7-megapixels and also add an HDMI interface, video stabilization and built-in editing.

The HD2 also offers a 10x optical zoom lens, 2.2-inch rotating LCD, an iPod video mode and simultaneous still/video capture. The unit can store 21 minutes of HD recording per GB of memory and 60 minutes per GB of standard definition video. The unit ships in March for a suggested $699.
