NARDA Moves HQ

Glenview, Ill. —The North American Retail Dealers Association (NARDA) will relocate its headquarters here from Lombard, Ill., on September 22, 2006.
The not-for-profit trade association serving independent retailers and servicers of major appliances and consumer electronics will take up residence within the facilities of Association Management Center (AMC), which will provide NARDA with both housing and full-service management.
According to NARDA president/CEO Tom Drake, the group will outsource to AMC such functions as conference and event planning and member communications. The move, approved by NARDA's board, will result in lower overhead, greater flexibility and enhanced expertise as the group “leverages AMC's extensive resources and state-of-the-art technology,” he said.
NARDA, whose members account for over 3,500 storefronts and $11 billion in annual sales, joins some 20 other trade associations that have outsourced functions and relocated to AMC.
