Riptopia Buys RipDigital

By Colleen Bohen -- TWICE, 8/21/2006

Washington — Riptopia, a CD ripping service, has acquired competitor RipDigital and appointed RipDigital's founder and CEO, Richard Adams, as its new VP of business development.

“We are thrilled to have Richard Adams on our team. The time he has spent over the past three years inventing a new industry will go a long way in helping Riptopia continue to build and expand its national CD ripping service offerings for both our commercial and retail customers,” said Kurt Beyer, president of Riptopia.

As a result of the deal, Riptopia's retail store presence will increase to 208 locations in 28 states, adding the service to stores like Tweeter, Escape, B&H, J&R and Tekserve.
