Mobility Launches Battery-Operated Charger

By Colleen Bohen -- TWICE, 8/21/2006

Scottsdale, Ariz. — Mobility Electronics, provider of portable power sources for mobile devices, has extended its iGo charger line with the new iGo powerXtender.

It is the company's first product using battery power to provide extra run time to a mobile electronics device.

“We recognized the need in the marketplace for a portable power adapter that uses batteries instead of AC/DC power sources. Many mobile device users don't always have access to AC/DC power; the power Xtender now enables them to stay powered up virtually anywhere,” said Charles Mollo, Mobile Electronics' CEO.

The product is designed to power a wide range of mobile electronics including mobile phones, MP3 players, PDAs, portable gaming devices, digital cameras and more. The incorporation of the company's intelligent tip technology allows this single product to power a variety of devices through the used of interchangeable power tips.

The iGo powerXtender uses four AA batteries and it is available now for a suggested retail price of $24.99.
