Outside The Box Debuts Noise-Canceling Headphones

By Staff -- TWICE, 8/8/2005

Pineville, N.C.— Billed as the “ultimate in noise-canceling equipment,” the new Solitude headset, from Outside the Box, is said to offer an “unparalleled” 18 decibels of active noise cancellation. The maker claims the audio fidelity of this headset is almost indistinguishable from the Bose QuietComfort 2 headphones, for $100 less at retail.

The Solitude offers full-size ear cups, ergonomically designed with more than 90 degrees swivel motion and 40mm neodymium in-ear cup drivers that offer a high level of audio reproduction. Volume can be adjusted from the left ear cup.

Total weight of the Solitude is 8 ounces and battery life is about 35 hours. The headphones can be collapsed when not in use, reducing the product to one-third its normal size. Suggested retail is $199.
