Rechargeable Product Line Bows At Compact Power

By Staff -- TWICE, 4/10/2006

Los Angeles — Compact Power Systems has newly expanded its iRecharge line to feature iRecharge for the iPod nano, camcorders, portable DVD players, Sony PSP and laptops. The product provides between three and 12 additional hours of rechargeable power for hardware batteries.

The iRecharge models fit seamlessly into the standard AC charging port, while restoring power to dead consumer electronics hardware within seconds, without using standard electrical outlets, battery changes or cords.

The new line of external lithium-ion batteries features the same design and technology as the company's iRecharge for the iPod, iPod mini and iPod shuffle, thus powering and recharging mobile electronics anywhere users go.

For laptops, at a suggested $149.99 retail, iRecharge provides up to three hours extra usage time. For the iPod nano, at $49.99, up to 12 hours are provided. The Sony PSP, at $29.99, gives up to eight hours of additional playing time. The portable DVD player, at $59.99, gains three hours, while the camcorder, at $49.99, also gets an extra three hours.

Products will be available in the second quarter.
