Wireless Desktop Set Gains Laser Mouse Comparison

By Staff -- TWICE, 3/27/2006

Redwood Shores, Calif.— The new PilotBoard laser wireless desktop set is said to be the first wireless desktop set that offers the sensitivity and accuracy of a laser mouse, the comfort and convenience of a programmable wireless keyboard and the high performance of 2.4GHz connectivity — all in one package, according to maker Kensington Computer Products Group.

By combining its advanced six-button programmable laser mouse with its most comfortable keyboard design ever, the Kensington PilotBoard is designed to help users “stay in control of their workspace and their busy life.”

Scheduled for late February availability at a suggested $79.99, the product's features and benefits include secure 2.4GHz-enhanced frequency that prevents signal overlap and interception, advanced laser technology that responds quickly to micro movements, intelligent power management and ultra-efficient sensors that provide up to a nine-month battery life based on an average usage of eight hours, five days a week, and one-touch multimedia keys that instantly launch calculator, e-mail and more.

Other features include six programmable mouse buttons that reduce repetitive tasks and speed users through their work, tilt-scroll wheel for four-way directional scrolling side-to-side and up-and-down, soft rubber mouse grips and cushioned keyboard wrist rest for comfort, and wireless technology that lets users position both keyboard and mouse in their optimal position — up to 30 feet.
