Jasco Bows Computer Keyboard Capable Of VoIP

By Staff -- TWICE, 3/27/2006

Oklahoma City — A GE-brand VoIP multimedia keyboard offered by Jasco Products is a computer keyboard with VoIP capability that is said to give users convenient access to a high-speed USB 2.0 port, and it offers multimedia ports for music or Internet chats, and flat keys for a soft, quiet feel.

The GE VoIP keyboard is the “perfect solution for consumers in an increasingly interconnected world of digital media and online audio communications,” said Jasco.

The product — the first to tap into the world of VoIP accessories, said Jasco — takes advantage of the growing market of VoIP services and products, with users expected to expand from the 5 million counted in 2004 to 200 million by 2010, according to the company.

Another first for the market, said Jasco, is the VoIP computer keyboard offers hot-key software to control digital music with iTunes directly from the keyboard.

Other product offerings include ease-of-access multiple ports on the left side of the keyboard for VoIP accessories; USB 2.0 port on the right side for USB VoIP and other USB accessories; bundled VoIP headset with noise-canceling microphone; compatibility with all VoIP services such as Skype, AOL, Microsoft and Google; 17 multimedia hot-keys that control multimedia applications; and a low-profile design. Suggested retail is $29.99.

A new four-product line of laser mice from Jasco “comes equipped to target all consumers' needs” by offering both wireless and wired standard-size and laptop travel-size mice.

The laptop wire mini mouse includes one with a retractable cable, while two standard-size mice offer six programmable buttons. The mice have a rubberized texture that is smooth to the touch, but easy to grip.

Mice features include 1,600 dpi, pinpoint laser technology and the ability to work on all surfaces. Suggested retails are model 98535 wired full-size laser mouse, $29.99, while the model 98536 wireless full-size laser mouse is $39.99. Model 98776 retractable mini laser mouse is $24.99, and model 98765 wireless mini laser mouse is $34.99.
