IOGear Ties Office PCs To Single Printer
By Staff -- TWICE, 3/27/2006
Irvine, Calif. — A print server that connects a single multifunction printer to all networked computers in a home office or small office is available from IOGear. The palm-sized USB multifunction print server allows all networked PCs to access one printer in order to print, fax or scan documents.
Unlike most products currently available, the device supports two-way communication with a printer, providing real-time updates on ink or toner levels and progress reports on sending and receiving faxes, said IOGear. By connecting the print server to a wireless router, it immediately becomes a wide local area network, enabling wireless communication with all computers on the network.
Also, Web-based management software makes printer management fast and easy, said IOGear, enabling users to configure and reset the print server and monitor networked multifunction printers through a Web browser.
Suggested retail is $99.95 for the model GMFPSU01. It is USB 1.1 compliant and operates on Windows 2000/2003 XP operating systems.
