Fujitsu To Ship LCD Projector

WAYNE, N.J. -Fujitsu, best known as a global resource for plasma display panels, is preparing to market a multimedia LCD-based video projector to complement its line of Plasmavision SlimScreen PDP monitors.

The LPF-4800 features a compact cabinet, measuring 9.3 (w) x 10.8 (d) x 3.5 (h) inches and weighing 7.9 pounds. Resolution is listed at 1,024 x 768 pixels. It will display HDTV images at a native 720p rate. Computer sources will be displayed at up to SXGA resolution.

"Our new LPF-4800 delivers unbeatable value in a multimedia LCD projector," said Fujitsu senior VP Tedd Rozylowicz, "enabling more consumers and businesses than ever before to enjoy the benefits of true high-performance LCD projector image quality in their home theater systems, presentations and commercial applications."

Video inputs for connection to a set-top decoder are HD component video and analog RGB. Brightness is rated at 1,500 ANSI lumens. Picture-enhancement features include digital keystone correction and 20x digital zoom.

The Fujitsu LPF-4800 multimedia LCD projector will be available this month at a suggested retail price of $5,999.
