Almo & Panasonic Expand Partnership

Philadelphia— Almo Corp., one of the nation's largest independent CE and majaps distributors, has expanded its relationship with Panasonic Consumer Electronics to 22 markets, effective March 1.
“Our partnership with Almo began back in the late 1970s and has only grown during the relationship,” said Ed Wolff, Panasonic's VP/distribution sales. “Our new strategy [of two-step distribution for independent dealers] focuses both of us on our core competencies — Panasonic on manufacturing and branding excellence and Almo on distribution excellence. Ultimately, the dealer wins with stronger branding and better delivery and service.”
Almo president Warren Chaiken said his company will provide Panasonic dealers with rapid delivery; access to its 25 inside product specialists and 60 outside district managers; display programs with extended floor plan terms of up to six months; and Almo's B to B Web site featuring specs, pricing and ordering function.
