Linksys Ships Next-Gen MIMO Line

Irvine, Calif. — Linksys has started shipping a pair of next-generation Multiple Input, Multiple Output (MIMO) networking products. The WRT54GX4 Wireless G router and WPC54GX4 Wireless G PC card are shipping now with respective suggested retail prices of $149 and $99. The units use Linksys' latest MIMO technology, called SRX400, which the company claims helps the wireless devices exceed Ethernet speeds.

SimpleTech To Promote Downloadable Movies

Santa Ana, Calif. — Storage vendor SimpleTech has teamed up with CinemaNow to promote downloadable movie content. The strategic partnership will include cross-promotional efforts by each company with SimpleTech placing CinemaNow gift certificates with all its storage products bought from the SimpleTech online store. CinemaNow will promote SimpleTech's products on its Web site.

Scratch Less Disc To Ship DVD Media

New York — Scratch-Less Disc will start shipping a line of DVD media in the first quarter capable of withstanding damage that would generally ruin a disc. The technology adds 20 small bumps that elevate the disc above a surface, reducing the chances of damage, the company said. The discs will be in retail early next year. Pricing was not available.
