AOC Bows $1,799 HD Plasma Set

FREMONT, Calif. — Envision Peripherals Inc. (EPI) introduced a 42W-inch high-definition plasma display it will sell under its AOC brand at a $1,799 expected street price.
Model A42HD84, which will ship in January, offers 1,024 by 768 native resolution, a 10,000:1 contrast ratio, built-in speakers and 10 watts of system audio power.
It also includes built-in ATSC digital and NTSC analog tuners.
The company said the panel is equally well suited for placement in corporate entrance areas, living rooms or home theater rooms.
Envision Peripheral's produces flat-panel displays under the AOC and Envision brands. Products are manufactured by TPV, one of the world's largest manufacturers of display devices.
