Volvo Offers PhatNoise HDD, iPod Adapters As Dealer Option

LOS ANGELES — PhatNoise announced that Volvo will offer dealer options that will include a PhatNoise 20GB removable hard drive and a PhatNoise iPod connector.
Volvo said it is the first car company to offer consumers a choice of an HDD player or iPod adapter. The iPod adapter is available this month on the 2006 S60, S80 and V70/XC70 in North America. The PhatNoise Digital Jukebox will soon be offered worldwide, Volvo said.
The Volvo Adapter for the Apple iPod, powered by PhatNoise, connects to the sound system by plugging the iPod into a cable located in the car's armrest compartment. It will enable users to control their music through the radio and steering wheel controls, and will charge the iPod when it is connected.
In the United States, the iPod Adapter and the Digital Jukebox have suggested retail prices of $150.00 and $898.00, respectively.
