Avis Adds KVH TracVision Service To Hummer Rentals
MIDDLETOWN, R.I. — Avis Rent A Car said it will offer KVH TracVision A5 mobile satellite TV systems and DirecTV service on its Hummer H3 sport utility vehicles at Sky Harbor International Airport in Phoenix.
XM Teams With AOL, AEG
WASHINGTON — Pushing its strategy to bring listeners live programming, XM Satellite Radio announced it teamed up with AOL and AEG, a leading concert, entertainment and sports presenter, and Kevin Wall, executive producer of Live 8, to create Network Live, an AEG, AOL and XM Company. Network Live is expected to offer live music and comedy shows that will be promoted on both AOL and XM.
Also this month, XM said it is seeking to gain more usable wireless spectrum by signing an agreement to acquire WCS Wireless. The additional spectrum could be used for data and video as well as other services, said the company. XM expects to complete the transaction by the end of the year.
Sirius Debuts Ultra-Thin Antenna
NEW YORK —Sirius Satellite Radio and Sirenza Microdevices announced they are introducing a mini antenna that they claim is the thinnest antenna for satellite radio.
In addition, Monster, Brisbane, Calif., announced it will ship four new Sirius antennae for the home and car markets, priced from $39.95 to $79.95.
