Logitech Harmony Remote Ties To Xbox 360

By Staff -- TWICE, 12/5/2005

Fremont, Calif.— Logitech is offering the Harmony advanced universal remote control for Xbox 360, providing gamers with a single remote that can completely control the game console and any other components in their entertainment systems.

Designed for Microsoft's Xbox video game and entertainment console, the Harmony needs only one button pushed and the Xbox 360 and all appropriate electronic components are set for game play. Special console-specific buttons on the remote make it easy to navigate the Xbox 360 interface, said Logitech. The remote's white finish, chrome accents, cool green back lighting and ultra-slim design complement the Xbox 360.

The Harmony remote makes it easy for any family member to switch among playing games on the 360, watching movies, listening to music, viewing HD television and any other home entertainment activity, said the company.

The remote can control any device with an IR receiver, and can control as many as 12 individual devices. Set-up is said to be simple due to an intuitive “wizard” that asks a series of questions about the entertainment system and components, and how these are connected. At the end of the process, all necessary codes are downloaded from the Harmony database via a USB connection.

The remote, which was scheduled for late November availability, has a suggested $129.99 retail.
