Sony Introduces New T-Series Cyber-Shot Digicams

San Diego, Calif.— Sony announced a new model in its T-series of digital cameras, bringing optical image stabilization and improved low-light shooting to its family of ultra-thin cameras.
The 6-megapixel DSC-T9 is Sony's first T-series still camera to offer its “Super Steady Shot” optical image stabilization and “high light sensitivity” up to ISO 640 to reduce blur and graininess that typically plague images in low light environments.
The model also features built-in slide show creation features, allowing users to choose between one of four themes for image playback. The camera will add transition effects automatically. With the bundled software, select PCs can support adding audio files to the camera's slideshow.
The T9 features a 3x optical zoom lens, 2.5-inch LCD screen, 58MB of internal memory and a slot for Memory Stick Duo media. It also offers a burst mode of seven shots at 0.8 frames per second at 6-megapixel resolution and a battery life of 240 shots per charge.
The T9 will ship in January in silver and black for an estimated $450.
