HD Radio Adapter From DICE

By Amy Gilroy -- TWICE, 11/21/2005

LAKE TAHOE, Nevada —The makers of Dension iPod adapters launched a new company at SEMA called DICE Electronics that is offering an HD Radio adapter for both OEM and aftermarket radios.

Called the HD-DICE, the adapter can link to a head unit by the external CD changer, auxiliary or navigation port. The hide-away black box converts a head unit to HD Radio reception. It is expected to ship after International CES at a price to be announced.

Initially, the HD-DICE will be available for import cars including BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Toyota and Honda, with Ford and GM models to follow, said sales VP James Lucas. It will also be compatible with after-market radios and is expected to sell through current Dension retailers including Best Buy, Al & Ed's Autosound and Tweeter, said the company.

DICE was founded by Alfred Barabas and Laszlo Barabas, president/CEO of Dension USA located in Long Beach, Calif. Dension claims a large market share in iPod adapters for car radio.
