LONG BEACH, Calif. — Pioneer is offering an aggressive $300 holiday consumer mail-in rebate on two mobile video and navigation products.

Good through Dec. 31, the rebates are available for AVIC-N2 mobile video/navigation unit and the AVIC-D1 navigation unit, both of which are compatible with NavTraffic real-time traffic. The rebate of $300 for each product is further supplemented by a $100 rebate when a consumer purchases a companion GEX-P10XMT NavTraffic tuner.

Said marketing VP Michael Townsen, “We really wanted to do a big consumer promotion to get [consumers] not only interested in navigation but to give them a strong incentive to purchase it in the fourth quarter,” he said. Pioneer is hoping the size of the rebate will encourage retailers to promote the products as well.

XM also launched a mail-in rebate this month. Purchasers of XM2Go products, including the Delphi MyFi, Tao XM2go and Pioneer Airware, or the Delphi SkyFi/SkyFi2, Audiovox XR9/XCS, or Polk home audio XRt12, can receive a $50 rebate through Dec. 31.
