Nebraska Expanding Facilities

By Alan Wolf -- TWICE, 10/24/2005

Kansas City, Kan. — Nebraska Furniture Mart, the CE, white-goods and home furnishings emporium, is expanding its already massive retail footprint by building out its Kansas City distribution center.

The company plans to add 360,000 square feet to its existing Kansas City warehouse, which is adjacent to Nebraska's two-year-old megastore. The expansion, which was necessitated by greater than anticipated sales volume, will feature 100 docks and 3 million cubic feet of storage capacity.

Besides the warehouse expansion, plans are also afoot to revamp the company's information-only Web site, www.nfm.com, which promises to add online sales capabilities next year.
