American Power Conversion Debuts Notebook Cases

-- TWICE, 6/20/2005

West Kingston, R.I. — Four new “stylish” Power Ready notebook cases are available from American Power Conversion (APC). The cases are designed to protect and organize laptops, phones and PDA while traveling, and also can integrate APC's universal notebook battery and universal power adapter for charging equipment “anywhere.”

The cases offer a “unique” universal notebook compartment that makes it easy to quickly pull out and replace a laptop at places like airport security checkpoints, said APC. All cases include mobile device pockets, a removable spill-proof pouch for personal belongings, a cord port that allows an adapter to charge a notebook while secured in its padded compartment and a removable shock-absorbing strap.

The cases are made of light nylon with a roller handle slot that allows for quick and secure attachment to most wheeled luggage. The 1,000-cubic-inch and 1,400-cubic-inch models can fit 15.4-inch and some 17-inch widescreen notebooks, while the 1,400 and roller case has a file compartment.

Suggested retails are $39.99 for the 900 cubic inch, $49.99 for the 1,000, $59.99 for the 1,400, with the roller case at $99.99. The power adapter is $79.99, and the notebook battery is $249.99.
