San Diego — A 1-hour charger is being added to the UltraLast brand of batteries and chargers from North American Battery. This four-position, four-circuit charger can power up nickel cadmium and nickel-metal hydride (NiMH) AA and AAA batteries.

Called the UltraLast one-hour charger, the unit offers safety features such as Delta V charging termination, a temperature sensor and LED indicators per circuit for charging and charging completion. Additional features include the ability to trickle charge as well as external AC and 12-volt DC cigarette lighter adapters.

Suggested retail for the one-hour charger is expected to be under $30, with adapters.

In addition, North American Battery will be introducing the highest rated AA NiMH battery on the market at 26mAh, according to the company. These 2600mAh cells will be sold under the UltraLast brand and will be packaged in two-packs for a suggested $5.99 and four-packs at $10.99.
