Rockford Supplies Mitsubishi
CYPRESS, Calif. — Mitsubishi Motors announced that it has partnered with Rockford Fosgate to offer a high-end audio system for the 2006 Mitsubishi Eclipse, set to reach dealers at the end of May.
The 650-watt, nine-speaker system includes a 10-inch subwoofer in a fiberglass-reinforced, acoustic suspension enclosure. It also has a six-disc, in-dash CD changer that accepts CD-R discs encoded with MP3 files. Another feature is advanced digital signal processing (DSP) with settings for pop, rock, hip-hop and country and a personal settings feature so users can preset and recall sound settings such as tone, balance, fader and staging. The system will also be available in the 2007 Eclipse Spyder in April 2006.
The collaboration is Rockford's first with Mitsubishi. Rockford has supplied OEM equipment to Nissan for the past several years, it said.
New Programs From Blaupunkt, Boston
BROADVIEW, ILL. and LOUISVILLE, KY.— Blaupunkt and Boston Acoustics announced new programs designed to make operations more retail friendly.
Blaupunkt said it will change its shipping “supply chain.” Beginning January 2006, all Blaupunkt products will ship directly from overseas factories to the warehouses of independent regional distributors, bypassing the current Blaupunkt warehouses in the United States. The aim is to improve product availability and speed of delivery, said the company.
Boston Acoustics also recently adjusted its volume incentive rebate and shipping programs. The company is now calculating volume rebates by overall volume rather than requiring dealers to purchase specific quantities of each model, it said.
In addition, Boston Acoustics is offering free shipping with any masterpack order.
