NKBA Announces K/BIS Keynotes

By Alan Wolf -- TWICE, 4/18/2005

Las Vegas — Gearing up for next month's Kitchen/Bath Industry Show & Conference (K/BIS) here, convention sponsor National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA) has released the roster of keynote speakers to be featured at this year's event.

The show, which is moving this year from Chicago to the Las Vegas Convention Center, will run May 9-12. Record-breaking crowds of more than 50,000 national and international professionals — including dealers, designers, distributors and other kitchen and bath professionals — are expected to attend, along with more than 900 kitchen and bath exhibitors, making it the world's largest trade event dedicated to the kitchen and bath industry.

The keynotes include Mike Seamons, one of the founders of Exceptional Innovation, a software development, support and training company focused on delivering the future of the digitally automated home. Seamons will discuss “Today's Digital Home” in his presentation about such life-changing technology as digital cameras, camcorders, DVD, HDTV, TiVo, iPod and XP Media Center Edition, and how they are impacting the way consumers experience media.

Also addressing K/BIS will be hometown son Steve Wynn, perhaps Las Vegas' best-known developer, who will kick off the show with his opening keynote about his newest creation, Wynn Las Vegas.

Other show highlights will include the NextGen Design Idea Home, focusing on the next generation of ideas for kitchens and baths, and the Center for Kitchen and Bath Education and Research golf tournament, which supports the continued development of qualified professionals in the kitchen and bath industry.

In addition, the NKBA will honor the finest professional in the kitchen and bath industry at its board of directors' gala, and will announce the winners of the 2005 design competition.

For more information or to register for K/BIS, visit or call (800) THE-NKBA.

The show returns to Chicago's McCormick Place next year, where it will run from April 21-23, 2006.
