Monster To Double THX Certified Cable Lineup

By Staff -- TWICE, 4/18/2005

Brisbane, Calif. — Monster Cable Products is teaming with THX to offer a new wave of THX Certified Monster cables set for a spring launch. Currently, Monster offers about 60 THX A/V cables, and recent plans include the debut of 60 more.

At the same time, THX will work closely with Monster to develop programs to educate retail sales people and to create marketing promotions designed to drive product through this channel.

Monster's THX Certified cables have a “unique” color-coding system that San Rafael, Calif.-based THX has developed in conjunction with Monster. The new system was designed to establish an easy, color-coding connection scheme, said the companies. The color-coding system eliminates users hooking up speakers incorrectly, which, in turn, could produce a system that is out of phase, where performance suffers.

“THX is one of the strongest brands among home theater customers,” said Noel Lee, head monster. “Combined with Monster's branding for high-performance cables, Monster's THX Certified series cables offer incredible sound and picture with the highest quality in an unbeatable dual branding.”

“THX certification sets forth a stringent set of design and engineering standards,” said Joseph Lias, THX's president. “By certifying Monster products, we are ensuring that customers will receive a superior cable product that delivers a high quality audio and video experience.”

No pricing has been set yet for Monster's new THX products.
