Audiovox Intros XM Rebate
Hauppauge, NY— After purchasing Terk Technologies, Commack, N.Y., earlier this year, Audiovox, has now re-branded Terk's XM radio products and is introducing consumer rebates on several models.
Terk's XM products will now be known as Terk by Audiovox XM Direct and Terk by Audiovox XM Commander. Audiovox is offering $30 rebates through May 15 on both products. The company is also providing a $20 rebate on the Audiovox XR9–XM Satellite Radio Receiver and XCS9 Combo Pack with car docking station.
Mio Bows Dedicated GPS
FREMONT, Calif.— Mio Technology, which markets handheld GPS Pocket PCs, announced its first stand-alone GPS handheld designed to double as a car mounted unit with built-in MP3.
The Mio136 ha an SD/MMC slot for street level maps of North America and Hawaii. The unit is “instant on” powered by an Intel 300MHz CPU and offers both map and voice-based directions. It has over a million points of interest (POI). Other features include a 3.5 inch touch-screen TFT and a supplied 256MB SD/MMC storage card. The Mio 136 comes with car kit, head phones, and charger at $499 suggested retail.
