IOGear Drive Stores, Secures Digital Documents

By Staff -- TWICE, 4/4/2005

Irvine, Calif. — IOGear combines computer storage and backup equipment in one device as it launches its 3.5-inch Combo Tri-Select ION Drive, with Tri-Select technology. The drive enables automatic backup based on users' settings. The external device allows consumers to store and protect important documents, as well as audio, video and other media files in one compact enclosure.

Compatible with both PC and Mac platforms, the drive provides a corporate-level storage and backup solution at a cost consumers can afford, said IOGear.

Depending on the size of the hard drive, products will vary in price for the 80GB through 250GB versions. Suggested retails are 80GB, $149.95; 120GB, $169.95; 160GB, $189.95; 200GB, $229.95; and 250GB, $289.95.

The drive offers both FireWire 400 and USB 2.0 compatibility and data transfer rates of up to 400Mbps for FireWire and 480Mbps for USB 2.0.

Tri-Select backup technology allows multiple types of backup settings to be designed for computers. Once the Tri-Select button has been set up, it will automatically back up a single file or an entire directory as selected by the user.
