APC Powers Up Travelers With Notebook Battery

West Kingston, R.I. — A universal notebook battery highlights a suite of availability solutions for mobile travelers introduced by American Power Conversion (APC).

The notebook battery is a slim, lightweight portable power solution for notebook computers that weighs less than 28 ounces and offers a typical notebook user up to eight hours of continuous run time.

APC also is introducing retractable telephone and network cables, a compact optical travel mouse, a USB battery extender and a new surge protector specially designed to provide complete power protection for notebooks.

At a suggested $249.99, the notebook battery includes a power level button, LED capacity indicators, input/output power port to charge and power the battery using a laptop's power adapter, and tips and jacks that provide compatibility with most notebooks. The external notebook battery is designed to operate inside notebook cases.

The retractable network and telephone cables, at a suggested retail range of $7.99 to $14.99, are a convenient, space-saving method to travel with cables. These spring-activated 5-foot cables come in a telephone and Ethernet models and telephone/Ethernet combo pack.

A USB optical travel mouse, at $19.99 suggested retail, is a convenient plug-and-play, compact mouse with a 2-foot retractable cord.

The USB battery extender, at $7.99 suggested retail, allows up to 60 minutes of talktime via a USB charging port. It can be used with and charge a mobile phone. This emergency battery requires a USB charging cable, sold separately, and AAA batteries.

The APC SurgeArrest notebook surge protector, at a suggested $19.99 retail, is a portable, compact device for laptop computers. The unit offers reliable telephone, fax, Internet, DSL and modem protection as well as network protection. The units are compatible in all voltage environments worldwide.

All units currently are available.
