LAS VEGAS — Accessories products new for this year from the recently combined Philips Consumer Electronics, North America, and Philips Accessories and Computer Peripherals, North America (Gemini), include a touch-screen remote, two headphones and two cables.

The RC9800i touch-screen remote control is a Wi-Fi controller said to be easy to use, while providing control of legacy and networked audio and video devices. In addition, the remote can access and control PC multimedia and Internet content to Wi-Fi-enabled A/V devices anywhere in the home.

The RC9800i, which can recognize more than 600 brands of consumer electronics devices, includes a charging cradle. Availability is this March/April at $599 suggested retail.

Two headphones include the SHS850 cloth neckband type that provides comfort and lightweight design, and the SHS420 that features easy-to-adjust ear loops to keep the unit securely in place.

Suggested retails are $29.99 for the SHS850 and $19.99 for the SHS420. Availability is June.

A new range of cables introduced here at International CES is comprised of the FlatCat 5e and Super FlatCat 5e networking cables, as well as the 3D Revolving and Data Sensing Lighted USB cables.

The FlatCat cables enable a computer to be connected to a network, hub, router, DSL and cable modem. Suggested retails are $24.99 for the Super and $21.99 for the regular. Availability is July for the FlatCat and September for the Super.

The 3D Revolving and Data Sensing Lighted USB cables units perform USB 2.0 cable applications, including transfer rates of up to 480Mbps. Suggested retail for the 3D Revolving is $29.99, and for the Data Sensing, $24.99. Availability for both is July.
