Partsearch Expands Service Offering

Alan Wolf -- TWICE, 1/6/2005

New York— Partsearch Technologies, which integrates with retailers and manufacturers online and via phone to help consumers and servicers find original replacement parts and accessories, is expanding its product offerings and facilities.

The company has recently implemented a new service parts fulfillment solution that dramatically increases efficiency and decreases repair turn-around time, and has launched a wireless solution, dubbed Wireless Whistler, for service technicians in the field. The latter allows home technicians to download service documentation and access Partsearch's part lookup and procurement tool from any location.

Recent client additions include RadioShack, Amazon.com, TigerDirect and Nebraska Furniture Mart, the company also reports. RadioShack customers, for example, can now purchase replacement parts and accessories at all RadioShack stores, or by calling 1-800-THE-SHACK. Amazon is using Partsearch's resources to provide parts for thousands of products within its online electronics store, where they can be merchandised with the original base product.

To handle its growth, the company is currently doubling the size of its call center in Kingston, N.Y.
