Stowaway Keyboard Offers Portability

Staff -- TWICE, 11/6/2000

CARLSBAD, CALIF. -Think Outside, a supplier of products for use in mobile computing and wireless communication, has teamed with Anaheim, Calif.-based Targus Inc., a maker of portable storage products, to announce availability of the Stowaway Portable Keyboard for Hewlett-Packard's Jornada 540 series.

The Stowaway is a full-size keyboard that folds to pocket size and allows users to take advantage of native support for Microsoft Word, Excel, and the Outlook messaging and collaboration client while on the road. The keyboard is the first in a series of Pocket PC portable keyboard solutions.

The combination of the Stowaway keyboard and the Jornada enables mobile users to leave their computers at home and still be able to answer e-mail, write reports and take notes. In addition, users can charge their PDA while they type on the keyboard.

The Stowaway for the Jornada 540 will be marketed by Targus under the name Targus Stowaway Portable Keyboard. It will be available at retail outlets nationwide and will be sold on the Targus website. It is being offered at a suggested $99 retail.
