Visteon Unveils MACH Line

Staff -- TWICE, 11/6/2000

DETROIT -One of the many new home theater systems for the automobile debuting at the Convergence 2000 show held here last month was the MACH brand from Visteon.

Products in Visteon's new line include telematics, multimedia and audio OEM products, as well as "rumble seats" that vibrate along with the subwoofers.

The MACH OEM products will be integrated into new vehicles beginning this model year. Among them is a MACH 1000 Audio system with DSP and subwoofers, to start shipping in the 2002 model year, and a MACH MP3 CD player to ship later in this model year.

Also new are a MACH rear-seat DVD system; an in-glass antenna; and the MACH Rumble seats. The seats have built-in exciters that react to the car's subwoofers to vibrate the seats, providing "a three-dimensional" experience, said Visteon. The seats are currently being test-marketed.
