Samsing Ships New Internal DVD Burner

San Jose, Calif. — Samsung announced the Writemaster TS-H552B, its 16x DVD burner. The internal drive is a dual-format, dual-layer device that started shipping this month with a $200 suggested retail price.

Antec Bows Super Cool Fan

Fremont, Calif. — Antec has started shipping a fan-less high-end PC power supply. The $199 fan uses circuitry that is 85 percent efficient, lowering both operating temperature and power consumption. The fan is geared toward the upgrade and build-your-own-PC markets.

Plextor Shows New PVR

Fremont, Calf. — PC drive maker Plextor announced a new addition to its ConvertX family of PVR products. The PX-TV402U, shipping this month with a $199 suggested retail price, has a built-in TV tuner and captures broadcast programming and stores it on the PC's hard drive using the DivX, MPEG-4 or MPEG-2 formats. The device comes with a programming guide.
