Weemote dV Remote 'Interacts' With Kids

Staff -- TWICE, 8/23/2004

Miami— Children are expected to easily access and navigate through content on DVDs, DVRs and interactive television with the new weemote dV remote control from Fobis Technologies.

The compact weemote dV, said to be "goof-proof" and fun for children, aged three to eight, to use, enables kids to explore interactive material via large, simple-to-identify navigational buttons, said the company. Only the most frequently used controls are provided by the weemote dV — namely navigational, direction, selection, transport and menu.

The weemote dV comes with a complete library of codes for virtually any DVD player. Parents simply find the compatible code for their brand of DVD player and enter it into the remote. For those DVD players that are not supported, or for the setup of the weemote dV with different devices, such as DVR or set-top device, the remote offers a full learning technology feature. This enables parents to point and click their existing remote at the weemote dV, and it will automatically learn commands and controls of the existing remote and reliably replicate them, said the company.

Housed in a durable case, with a sleek design to promote comfort and support for children's small hands, the remote has a suggested $19.95 and is currently available.
