Philips Unit Offers Hi-Res Color Screen

Staff -- TWICE, 8/23/2004

Atlanta— Designed to seamlessly integrate into any home theater environment, the Philips ProntoPro Next Generation TSU7000 remote control feature a "sleek, cutting-edge design" with a new 3.8-inch high-resolution color touch screen.

The remote, which Philips said offers consumers endless control possibilities and the ability to expand home theater enjoyment with extreme colors, utilizes the latest thin film-transistor (TFT) technology. The 32MB remote boasts the best screen readability available, said Philips, and its infrared code database covers more than 800 brands.

The remote features "improved" RF technology and an optional RF extender, providing users with the ability to control components in cabinets or in other rooms.

The ProntoPro NG includes software that provides consumers the ability to customize their remote's interface. With software supporting more than 65,000 colors, users can create state-of-the-art configurations, as well as customize button colors, channel icons and background colors.

Ease of use is enhanced by the new alpha blending feature, which greatly reduces setup time when including custom backgrounds and buttons. The ProntoPro NG includes a rechargeable docking station and has a suggested $999 retail.
